Default 120 Energy on a Mo/E build? Is this possible?

Not sure if this is right forum but I was just doing the Thunderhead Keep mission with my monk. After our first big battle the casters are announcing thier energy levels for a rest and I see "My Energy is 47 of 120" go by. I don't think much of it, thinking it's a jacked up Ele build. Then I think to myself "wow", cuz I got an Ele and even for an Ele, 120 is hard to get. So I take another look at the message and it's the other monk in the group as a Mo/Ele. After a little while longer I get curious and I ask him how he has 120 energy. He says he has an "awesome staff". So a little while after that I ask him if I can see it and he says it's a "Guild Secret".

I'm just wondering how in the world this is possible? I know even with an awesome staff it is unlikely anybody could get to 120 energy without being an Ele primary. Just wondering if anybody has any ideas on this?

Hm... Well, the highest I can think of without Energy Storage is around 60... but I would think it nearly impossible to get that high(120) on a Monk primary...

Chances were he was pulling your chain.

Impossible to reach that high with a Monk primary. He was lying to you sorry. You can however reach it with an Elementalist primary, but you would have only +2 energy regen as opposed to +4.

I dont think so, he was doing it in the middle of battles and the numbers were always changing. Ohh well maybe he was faking it which is what I thought but he did a very good job of it. Not sure why he would keep doing it throughout the entire mission, would be too much trouble. Maybe a hack?

If you hit up (or down) on your keypad while you have the chat window selected you cycle through previously said messages.

So he could of say.... before the mission typed this to an empty party.
My Energy is 55 of 120!
My Energy is 13 of 120!
My Energy is 120 of 120!
My Energy is 42 of 120!

Then hit up on his keypad during the battle to bring it back up.

I've done the same thing playing "Guess that song" with my guildies. Type out the whole song to myself in an empty team, then use up and down on Guild chat to get lyrics out quickly.

Using a couple of collector items, and at the expense of 2 regen pips, I can get my monk's max energy up to 80 or 81. I keep those items in a secondary weapon slot, and switch if I need a quick burst of energy near the end of a battle. I don't think 120's possible, though.

I've got to admit, some of the reactions have been pretty priceless when I've typed, "My Energy is 1749 of 1749" into the chat window...

My guess is that the 120 energy monk wasn't a hack, just a joke.

Awesome staff or not, it's impossible unless you're a primary elementalist.

lol, I'd like to see that!! The highest energy I ever saw was 100 on an Ele primary. My E/Me has an energy of 90, and to get anymore I would have to sacrifice fire magic or energy regen. In my opinion, having a high energy rating is not worth it if you can't regenerate it.

ele primary can get that high. max energy storage, +1 energy storage hat, sup energy storage rune, wand with +15/-1 energy/regen, offhand with 12 en and +15/-1 energy and its possiblt to get above 120 energy. But you better have a good BiP necro and monk to keep him alive, otherwise youll be waiting till christmas to regen all of that with only 2 pips of regen

The only thing I could figure that could get that high is:

Elem Primary -> 30e
max. E Storage -> 48e
rare +15e wand, -1E regen-> 15e
offhand with +12e, +15e, -1 E regen ->27e

30+48+15+27=120e

Dunno how a monk primary would have this being possible though...you sure you didn't misread it? Not meant to offend of course.

Edit: Shoulda taken a screenie, silly. :P
